National Ambulance has deployed specialised medical teams and ambulances to ensure comprehensive safety coverage during the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025.
Abu Dhabi is reinforcing its reputation for world-class event safety as National Ambulance confirms full medical coverage for the Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025. The season-ending race will take place at Yas Marina Circuit from December 4 to 7, with extensive preparations in place to safeguard drivers, teams, staff, and organisers throughout the event.
This year marks the twelfth consecutive time National Ambulance has supported the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, underlining its long-term commitment to strengthening the UAE’s emergency medical readiness at major international events. Specialised on-site medical teams have been deployed to deliver rapid, professional response capabilities in line with international motorsport safety standards.
For the duration of the race weekend, National Ambulance has mobilised around 70 highly trained professionals. The team includes doctors, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, command and communications centre personnel, pharmacists, and essential support staff. Together, they form an integrated medical response unit capable of handling anything from routine care to high-risk emergency scenarios.
The deployment is supported by a fleet of 14 fully equipped ambulances positioned strategically across the circuit. These resources will provide round-the-clock medical coverage for Formula 1 drivers, pit crews, officials, spectators, and event staff, with seamless access to the circuit’s Medical Center at every stage of the race programme.
Officials said the scale and structure of the deployment reflect lessons learned over years of experience in motorsport medical operations, ensuring rapid access, clear communication, and coordinated decision-making in time-critical situations.
Delivering effective medical coverage at a Formula 1 event requires close coordination among multiple stakeholders. National Ambulance is working in collaboration with Emirates Motorsport Organisation, the circuit management, event organiser Ethara, and other strategic partners.
This coordinated approach ensures that medical services are fully integrated into overall race operations, from on-track incidents to off-track emergencies. Clear protocols, joint planning, and constant communication allow teams to respond efficiently without disrupting the flow of the event.
National Ambulance’s role at Yas Marina Circuit extends well beyond the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The organisation provides year-round emergency medical services at the venue, supporting a wide range of activities including motorsport events, concerts, exhibitions, and community health and fitness programmes.
This continuous presence allows medical teams to maintain familiarity with the circuit’s layout, access points, and operational procedures, enhancing readiness when high-profile events like the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix take place.
By combining experienced personnel, advanced medical resources, and strong inter-agency coordination, Abu Dhabi continues to set benchmarks for safety at international sporting events. As thousands of fans descend on Yas Marina Circuit for the Formula 1 finale, the comprehensive medical deployment ensures that drivers and organisers can focus on the action, confident that top-tier emergency care is always close at hand.
