Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has announced a major upgrade to the AI-powered āRed Carpetā smart corridor at Terminal 3, Dubai International Airport. Soon, the enhanced system will serve both departing and arriving passengers, allowing travellers to pass through passport control without presenting physical travel documents.
Fast, Seamless Immigration
The upgraded corridor can handle up to 10 passengers simultaneously, reducing processing time to just 6ā14 seconds per traveller. With AI at its core, the system eliminates traditional passport checks while scanning and verifying multiple passengers at once.
Advanced AI Verification
The smart corridor automatically pre-identifies passengers, verifies credentials, and flags any unusual cases for manual inspection. This approach doubles efficiency while maintaining strict security standards.
