UAE Cabinet Approves Dh30 Billion Economic Clusters Policy

The UAE Cabinet, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum—Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai—has endorsed a National Policy for Economic Clusters expected to add over Dh30 billion annually to the nation’s GDP. The announcement came during the first Cabinet session of the new government season at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi.

Strengthening Competitiveness

The policy aims to group related industries, services, and institutions across the country, capitalizing on each emirate’s unique strengths. It is designed to boost sectoral capabilities, open global market access, and enhance the UAE’s economic standing. ā€œThe policy will create sustainable value, support national industries, and reinforce the UAE as a global economic hub,ā€ Sheikh Mohammed shared on his official X account.

November Annual Meetings

The Cabinet approved the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled in Abu Dhabi from November 4–6. More than 500 senior officials will focus on education, healthcare, family and national identity, the economy, and AI applications to improve performance and innovation in governance.

Sustainability and Environment

The Cabinet ratified an updated National Plan to Reduce Aviation Emissions, aligning with international climate goals. It also reviewed progress on the National Environment Policy and the National Air Quality Agenda 2031, both aimed at protecting biodiversity and advancing sustainability. ā€œPreserving the environment remains a core pillar of our development journey,ā€ Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed.

Governance and Global Engagement

Key governance decisions included reconstituting the boards of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, the UAE Council for Digital Economy, and the Entrepreneurship Council. The Cabinet also approved 85 international agreements and authorised hosting 12 specialised global events.

Integrative Medicine Initiative

In a landmark move, the Cabinet established the UAE Council for Integrative Medicine, chaired by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. This council will promote a holistic approach combining modern and traditional treatments, develop protocols, train specialists, and raise public awareness.

Vision for Development

Concluding the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that all national initiatives align with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision. ā€œEvery national and economic sector is advancing with confidence and clarity,ā€ he said.
