UAE’s Pink October Launches Nationwide With 86 Sites Offering Free Cancer Screenings

The UAE has launched Pink October 2025, its annual nationwide campaign for breast cancer awareness, with a record 86 fixed and mobile clinics providing free screenings throughout the month. Organised by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) through its Pink Caravan initiative, the drive runs from October 1–31, offering clinical, mammogram, and ultrasound tests for early breast cancer detection.

Focus on Awareness and Prevention

At the campaign’s launch, FOCP reported overwhelming public engagement across its fixed and mobile clinics. The initiative continues to underline the importance of early detection in saving lives, combining medical services with education and community participation.

ā€œPink October reflects our vision of transforming awareness into a health culture rooted in prevention and proactive steps,ā€ said Aisha Al Mulla, Director of FOCP. She praised Sharjah’s leading role in humanitarian initiatives and noted the alignment of the campaign with the UAE’s national health priorities.

The campaign also seeks to create a sense of collective responsibility, with FOCP encouraging corporations, community groups, and individuals to participate actively in spreading awareness and supporting screenings.

Fixed and Mobile Clinics Across the Emirates

This year’s Pink October features eight fixed clinics operating daily from 4 pm to 10 pm (except Khorfakkan, which runs 10 am to 4 pm). These are located at:

Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah

Mushrif Mall, Abu Dhabi

Mall of Al Ain, Al Ain

City Walk, Dubai

Umm Al Quwain Mall, Umm Al Quwain

RAK Mall, Ras Al Khaimah

Lulu Mall, Fujairah

Khorfakkan, Sharjah (morning hours)

In addition, the Mobile Medical Clinic and Mini Mobile Clinics will cover over 86 sites nationwide, making screenings accessible to residents in major cities and remote areas alike.

Corporate Engagement Opportunities

One of the unique features of the Pink October initiative is its strong emphasis on workplace participation. Businesses across the UAE can book FOCP’s mobile clinics to visit their premises, providing on-site screenings for employees.

Corporate services include:

Wellness Days: Breast examinations and mammogram vouchers.

On-site and online workshops: Covering breast self-examination, early detection, and prevention.

Awareness lectures: Tailored to engage both male and female employees.

These initiatives aim to extend the campaign’s reach into professional environments, encouraging companies to contribute directly to the national health movement.

Community Events and Family Activities

Beyond clinics, Pink October will feature several community-focused events designed to blend awareness with entertainment and fitness:

Aljada Community Event (Sharjah, Oct 10–12): Free screenings, play zones, competitions, and family activities.

Battle Cancer Challenge (Dubai, Oct 25): Screenings at The Seven Stadium, fitness competitions, and fundraising through Yalla Give.

Pink Tour (Dubai Expo City, Oct 12): A collaborative cycling and awareness initiative.

Ride with Rixos (Abu Dhabi, Oct 18): A cycling event along the Corniche with fundraising support.

These events highlight the campaign’s strategy of combining education with interactive and family-friendly platforms, ensuring wider public involvement.

Partnerships and Medical Backing

The campaign is powered by collaborations with leading medical institutions, including Advanced Care Oncology Center, Emirates Hospital Group, Ras Al Khaimah Hospital, and University Hospital Sharjah. These partnerships guarantee professional screening services and follow-up care where needed.

The Pink Shop – Raising Hope Through Products

FOCP has also relaunched The Pink Shop, offering merchandise such as pins, bracelets, keychains, and candles. Proceeds from sales go directly to supporting cancer patients and their families, merging awareness with tangible financial assistance.

A Collective Effort Against Cancer

Organisers emphasise that success depends on community-wide engagement. FOCP called on survivors, volunteers, medical professionals, and corporations to take part in this year’s edition. ā€œPrevention and awareness require unity,ā€ the organisation said in its campaign statement.

With its extensive screening network, interactive workshops, and large-scale community events, Pink October 2025 is set to become one of the UAE’s largest and most inclusive cancer awareness drives to date, reinforcing the country’s commitment to proactive healthcare and early detection.
